Tradition is designed to break the ego’s sense of specialness, to deconstruct it, so that true authenticity of spirit can replace it. And yet the ego believes to be of spirit when it truly just twists life-force into a mind matrix of fear and worldly desires. It will not admit this to itself but rather will try rationalizing its lack of devotion through hiding behind ideas of individuality, freedom and authenticity. Without unity with God freedom and authenticity are impossible to attain.
Spiritual practice which is not designed to attain enlightenment is a dead end.
To attain enlightenment one may need to practice for many lifetimes.
To the ego this is unattractive. The ego will not practice any method that does not give it benefits in the current lifetime, for that is all it cares for. The ego’s scope cannot get past the current body, therefore its practice is essentially selfish and distorted.
The ego is fascinated with energy yoga, magic and psychedelics. It also abhors tradition which it sees as a limitation to its perceived authenticity. Yet the ego can never be authentic because it is a construct of the world and not of spirit.

Without unity with God freedom and authenticity are impossible to attain. But in the egos dishonesty it tries to bend God to its desires instead of surrendering itself to the Will of God.
It wants to add to itself in terms of energy and ability.
And yet a Yogi needs to deconstruct himself, rather than add to himself.
To deconstruct the false one needs to be dedicated, it takes discipline, steadiness and a striving for selflessness. This is why the authentic teacher is strict and does not comfort the ego, which the ego perceives as harsh and cruel, even though it is an expression of compassion.
The ego is in fact projecting its own cruelty onto the teacher, since it wants to keep the soul imprisoned and steal its energy to sustain itself, therefore it must be met with vigilance, intensity and discipline in practice.
Furthermore, without compassion one cannot consider liberating one’s other lives for this is past the currently experienced body. Liberation from the world can equally not be grasped.
To make the current self and its desires priority is to pervert spiritual matters of great importance.
One needs to shed the current self to liberate all lifetimes and to achieve enlightenment to assist in the liberation of souls from the world.
Fast practices like plant medicine use and higher energy yoga are spiritual candy for the ego that builds a new identity for itself.
A new prison, which later will need to be broken down through meditation.
Meditation is the key to attain true freedom, without Buddha mind the world cannot be redeemed.
The authentic practice of the masters is deemed as slow, primitive and uninspiring from the ego’s perspective. It labels authentic practice as old, medieval and not up to date, but in truth it is the timeless teaching which transcends all realities. The ego is obsessed with progress, distracting the soul into obsessesions about the future instead of aiming to attain liberation here and now.
The ego finds methods that require humility and devotion appalling and labels them prisons to its freedom and its perceived authentic drive and yet its unwillingness to surrender to the path keeps the soul imprisoned.
To discern between the souls will and the will of ego is difficult for the practitioner.
Part of the practitioners’ test is the willingness to seek an authentic Master and to have faith in the teacher, which will strengthen the practitioner’s yoga.
If practices and teacher are doubted at every turn, the student cannot succeed, for to be effective one cannot waste precious time with doubt, fear and argument, even if the argument is not vocal but secret and internal. This is not a secret to the teacher of course, even though the student may believe his mind to be separate and undetected.
To recognize the Master is part of the initiation test, if it is failed more incarnations are required.
Overall one could say:
The slow ones are the fast ones and the fast ones are the slow ones.
Meaning:
Those who want fast success and go for the more exciting methods are spiritually immature and will be slow in their development.
Those who have proper practice will appear slow on the outside, in their movement and speech, and yet they will grow faster in spiritual maturity. They will acquire a strong foundation from which even the most challenging information can be integrated.
