Tradition is designed to break the ego’s sense of specialness, to deconstruct it, so that true authenticity of spirit can replace it. And yet the ego believes to be of spirit when it truly just twists life-force into a mind matrix of fear and worldly desires.
It will not admit this to itself but rather will try rationalizing its lack of devotion through hiding behind ideas of individuality, freedom and authenticity.
Without unity with God freedom and authenticity are impossible to attain.
